JEC Award: a new success for NEOS‘ R&D

Our company, together with the InnoClip consortium, has received this prize for developing an innovative polymer-based solution for aneurysm treatment NEOS Surgery and the partners of the InnoClip consortium have been awarded the JEC World 2016 Innovation Award. The award ceremony, which was attended by the partners involved in the project (Germany’s Institut für Verbundwerkstoffe Kaiserslautern and ADETE – Advanced Engineering & Technologies GmbH, Belgium’s University Hospital Antwerp, and NEOS), took place in Paris on March 8th, during JEC World 2016, the annual Composites Show and Conference. The award has been given to the new carbon-fiber vascular clip which has been developed in the InnoClip project, led by NEOS and financed through the Eurostars call (supported by EUREKA and the European Commission). This innovative clip has the unique advantage of avoiding artefacts in patient follow-up after brain surgery to treat an intracranial aneurysm, which is a significant limitation of current metallic clips.

“This prize is a great recognition to the joint work of all the partners of the InnoClip project during the last three years”, said Montse Charles-Harris, Operations Director at NEOS Surgery. “We are sure that it will help us complete the development of this new product and bring it closer to the market, thus guaranteeing that neurosurgeons will benefit from the consortium’s work”, she added.

The news about the JEC Award to the InnoClip project has also been portrayed on Eurostars’ websiteand newsletter.
